KEYO PLASTIC MACHINE

This board has been laying in its owners backyard
for who knows how long.
To short and to new to ride in old mal comps,
it was left in old mal limbo, waiting for the right moment
 to be remembered.
That moment came thanks to its owner reading
Bob McTavish's book "Stoked"
The penny dropped.
I think I've got one of those "Plastic Machines"
laying around in the back yard somewhere.

8’2” x 24 ¼” N 18 ½” T 18”
Wide point 4” behind midpoint.
It has a fair amount of camber in both the bottom and the deck.

It's got a bit of the "pig" in it.
A high density foam stringer.
Unfortunately no shapers initials are visible.

Greenough stage three.
111/2" high
8 3/4" from pod.

KEYO

1963 Keyo International Custom Surfboards with the Makaha trophy image.

PRE RESTO

This board is 9'10 1/4" x 21 7/8"
Nose is 16"
Tail is 13 5/8"
It is 3 7/16" thick and the pod is 4".

READY FOR REPAIRS

Condition wise this board was in fair condition. There were numerous dings on the rails. With small areas of delam on the nose and under the fin. There are a number of large water stains, mainly on the bottom and on the rails.

PREPPED FIN

The fin needed to be removed to repair the areas of delam either side of the stringer.

REBONDING UNDER FIN

Resin was poured into the void and clamped. As seen in the previous photo the fin was set into the board. The hole left behind was filled and re glassed.

FIN

The fin had two layers of 10 oz cloth added to both sides prior to resetting. The base is 10 1/2" and 8 3/4" high. It is set 1 1/4" from the pod.

PROFILE

Pretty flat rocker. Not alot of camber in the bottom. Even less in the deck.

FINISHED DECK

Glossed and polished.
