NIRVANA FLUTED BAT TAIL

Fluted bat tail.
Early 80's thruster.

Found on a council pick up.
Its amazing what people throw out!

In house custom sprays
back in those days.
This board must have been stored inside.
The spray job looks as good as the day it was done.

The tail had been squared off at some stage.
Fortunately the bat tail was left in tact.
Visible in second image.

Foil is still pretty flat through the middle and tail.

The trailing edge centre fin has
been modified.

Finished.
Bill was pretty excited to see this board.

70'S NATIVE DOUBLE FLYER SINGLE FIN

 This board certainly is distinctive.
The amount of detail work
on the deck is 1st class.

No pre restoration images were taken.
The only real noticeable damage to this board
was the nose and tail tips.
These were replaced with cedar blocks.
The original leg rope plug was removed,
and reset toward the tail.
It was under the black triangle
to the right of the stringer.
 Flat rocker.

Finished.

70'S BARRY BENNETT DOUBLE ENDER

 The original logo only had
filler and gloss over it, no glass.
So over the years the resin
had chipped  away.
As you can see in the image below.

The fin had to come out,
so the area could be rebuilt.
A 4oz pigment lam added,
capped with a clear lam.
Then the fin was reset.

 Typical 70's rocker.

Finished.
An extra logo was added on the bottom
to hide the large ding on the rail.
The old square leg rope plug was removed
and a second hand period  plug was reset.
